Review: London Falling (International School #2) by Chanel Cleeton

We weren't a relationship, we were a ticking time bomb...

Maggie Carpenter walked away from the hottest encounter of her life when she left the seductive glitz of England for summer break in her South Carolina hometown. Now that she’s returned to the International School in London—and sexy, privileged Samir Khouri is once again close enough to touch—she can’t help but remember the attraction, the drama … the heartbreak.
She can’t help but want him even more.
Samir can’t afford to fall for someone so far removed from his world, not when his time in London is running out. It's his senior year—his last chance at freedom before he returns home to Lebanon. There, he’ll be expected to follow in his father’s footsteps—not follow his heart to Maggie. But when a scorching secret hookup becomes a temptation neither can resist, they’ll both have to fight to survive the consequences … and find a future together.

Don’t miss this explosive sequel to I See London, and the riveting conclusion to Maggie and Samir’s story. This is a New Adult romance recommended for readers 17 and up.

My thoughts (Roxana):

“London was like a drug - an incredible high you never wanted to come off of. It made you feel like you could do anything, be anyone. You could reinvent yourself in a city like this.”

I already have read *and loved* I See London, the first book in this great series, and because I was lazy, I still haven't posted my review... and while I was sure that this ride couldn't get more crazy and deliciously  epic... Ms. Cleeton proved me exactly how wrong could I be making that statement.

London Falling picks up the fall after Maggie’s freshman year with Maggie anxiously awaiting Samir’s arrival after their intimate night the day before summer break, so as you imagine, Maggie is shocked to hear that Samir hadn’t broken up with his girlfriend even after their night and their wedding plans is still on!

As you can see and imagine I was angry and confused, because after everything that has happened between those two, after a night like that, after all the love and their strong feeling they have one for another... how could Samir go and leave me... ahem.... Maggie, like that! Tell me way should I forgive that... stupid hotness of a male perfection and give him another chance? Why should Maggie do it?!

Well she doesn't, for the most part of this book, and to see both of them at each other throat... it was an awful and hot experience in the same time! Because when those two are together the sparks are flying everwhere and their chemistry is off the charts. But so is their relationship, because Samir has a responsabilty to mantain the tradition and his father's footsteps, even more so growing up in Lebanon within a powerful political family is not without its pressures, to succeed, to make the family proud, to marry the right person, and with his father's presence ...  let's just say that said someone  is on my bad list...

This time we 'hear' his voice and finally understand him and his actions more than in the first book. But even more so, there's a difference from previous book because they grow up so much, their emotional connection bides them even more and while they complete each other, they also become a better person,
Maggie letting herself free, and Samir becoming the great book boyfriend that we knew  he could be from the very first page...and their chemistry is there like always, but this time they don't hide from their feelings, but also, they can't indulge either...

Final Decision: If you want a book about impossible relationship with a hot from abroad college boy, where you learn that sometimes you only become free if you let yourself shy away from the clutches of a life already planned for you by your own blood...

My rating: 4/5

About the author:

Originally a Florida girl, CHANEL CLEETON moved to London where she received a bachelor’s degree from Richmond, The American International University in London and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Chanel fell in love with London and planned to stay there forever, until fate intervened on a Caribbean cruise, and an American fighter pilot with smooth dance moves swept her off her feet. Now, a happily ever after later, Chanel is living her next adventure in South Korea.

Law school made Chanel realize she’d rather spend her days writing sexy stories than in a courtroom, and she hasn’t looked back since. An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she’s happiest curled up with a book. She has a weakness for handbags, her three pups, and her fighter pilot husband. Chanel writes New Adult contemporary romances and thrillers.

She is the author of I SEE LONDON and LONDON FALLING, published by Harlequin HQN, and FLIRTING WITH SCANDAL, the first book in a new NA series to be released by Berkley in 2015. You can connect with Chanel on her website at www.chanelcleeton.com.
